One of the most important commercial sites to come on the market in recent years in Clondalkin, Dublin 22, is for sale by private treaty through Harrington Bannon. The agency is seeking offers around £3.65 million for 18.25 acres, which front on to both the old and the new Nangor roads. There are two separate zonings for the land, which is owned by the Clondalkin Group. A total of 11.95 acres are zoned for industrial use, while the remaining 6.3 acres adjacent to The Mill shopping centre have a town centre zoning. It would allow them to be used for a variety of purposes including retail, retail warehousing, offices and residential.
Last May, Dunloe House paid £9 million for The Mill and two adjoining development sites of four acres. Dunnes Stores owns its 50,000-square-foot supermarket in Clondalkin but the remaining shops, which cover around the same area, are producing a rent roll of more than £750,000. There is scope to enlarge the centre which was developed over two years ago by Jim Mansfield.
The Clondalkin Group is also currently selling a development site of 1.45 acres in the centre of Cork which is expected to make about £3 million. Patrick Curran of Harrington Bannon is also handling this sale.
