Thirteen companies have tendered for a 3.9-acre commercial and residential site at the Town Centre, in Tallaght, Dublin 24, which is thought to be worth around £30 million. The company chosen to carry out the five-storey development on the site will be expected to pay a lump sum to South Dublin County Council, as well as a guaranteed percentage of annual rents. The development is expected to have up to 400,000 sq ft. It will probably include an apart-hotel, a leisure centre, shops and restaurants, a residential medi-care centre, as well as consultants' suites and medical sales outlets. There will also be commercial activities on the upper floors, as well as 400 apartments. A 700-space car-park will be provided.
