£1.5m sought for shopping centre in Balbriggan

HARRINGTON Bannon is seeking about £1

HARRINGTON Bannon is seeking about £1.5 million for Balbriggan Shopping Centre in north Co Dublin, which is for sale by private treaty. The current rent of £160,000 per annum would provide an initial yield of 10.5 per cent. There is obvious development potential on surplus land, which has extensive frontage on to High Street.

The anchor tenant, Quinnsworth, is contributing £110,000 to the total rent roll. There is also a good tenant mix among the remaining shops. The 31,500-square-foot of retail space was developed in 1982 by a local businessman, the late Maurice McAuley. There is ample on-site car-parking. Access to the centre is from Quay Street, Bridge Street and High Street.

A new by-pass which is due to be constructed at Balbriggan, is expected to relieve traffic congestion in the seaside town which is only 18 miles from Dublin.
