In the space of a couple of days, a friendly get-together among food bloggers – which started life as a “foodies on tour” visit to Donal Doherty’s Harry’s Bar Restaurant in Inishowen, Co Donegal – has burgeoned into a weekend celebration of Irish food next Friday and Saturday.

This should be great fun. The programme is still growing, but will include masterclasses with butchers Ed Hick, TJ Crowe and Jack McCarthy, farmhouse buttermaking with Imen McDonnell, cheesemaking with David Tiernan of Glebe Brethan, coffee brewing with Coffee Angel and Bailie’s Hand Roasted Coffee, as well as a local food feast at Harry’s and a pizza-making session with Darren Bradley.
