This takes place in the peak of the action during the Hilton Hotel Kilmainham Phoenix Park Motor Races, in August. They're the highlight of the motor-racing year. It's a free event, so it draws huge crowds.
Enda O'Connor, from Wicklow, is in the yellow Formula Sheane, and as the two cars come into the first corner he is nudged over by Adam Craughan, from Limerick, also driving a Formula Sheane.
This photograph is a part of a sequence that shows the car flipping over several times before stopping upside down. It might look as if it is coming towards me, but it continues flipping on the track. The driver walks away.
These drivers are amateurs, but they're enormously dedicated and passionate about their sport. It's a very professional set-up, costing thousands to take part in an event like this. As a photographer it helps if you know the sport you're covering. I'm interested in motor racing, so I knew the best spot to be in to capture the action.
