IN EFFECT, this is a show of graphic art, in a wide range of media and an equally wide range of styles. Michael Kane's, two big, uninhibited monotypes, approach most nearly to paintings - free, splashy, colourful, but with a certain armature of draughtsmanship underneath. And Nickie Hayden's moody, warm-coloured exhibits have more the feeling of paintings than of graphic art - they, too, are monotypes, though on a smaller scale.

Andrew Folan shows three screenprints of tables in an interior, an image he has used before and effectively. The woodcuts of Rebecca Salter are simple, austere and elegant, without being especially original. Martyn Brewster, an interesting artist, exhibits monotypes with a good sense of colour and a fine technique.

The other exhibitors are Rom Rumford and Sara Horgan, both accomplished technicians. Overall, the exhibition stresses colour and lyricism rather than linear austerity; there is very little in black and white. Downstairs in the lobby, and not part of the exhibition proper, there is an excellent painting on paper by Michael Kane, of a boat in a bay.
