What’s on your rider?
Not sure, but I like to have a brandy before a gig.
What would be on your fantasy rider?
A good cocktail waitress for interesting after-gig drinks.
What’s your pre-gig ritual/ routine?
A two-mile run, then tai chi, some meditation, and then just singing with an acoustic guitar to get in the zone.
How do you get to the gig – limo, taxi, walking?
Air balloon.
What’s the best gig you’ve been to, and why?
Recently I really enjoyed The Specials; it took me back to some great times.
Ecologically speaking, are you closer to Radiohead or Motorhead?
Haven’t a clue.
Who is the most famous person to have shown up at one of your gigs?
Elvis . . . I only saw him for a second but I’m sure it was him; I heard he’s hiding out in north Wales.
Most embarrassing on-stage moment?
Having to leave the stage live on TV in Germany due to white noise blasting thru monitors.
What’s your crowd-pleasing number?
Life of Riley.
Chatting between songs – good or bad, and why?
Difficult or easy – depends on different nights.
Groupies – would you?
No, I’ve never wanted to be a groupie.
How many roadies does it take to change your lightbulbs (ie, how big is your entourage)?
As few as possible.
Have you a special stage wardrobe?
No.
Do you like to meet and greet fans after the gig?
Sometimes.
What’s the worst thing ever thrown at you?
A cardigan.
Who’s invited to your aftershow party?
The Beatles and The Stones.
