SHUTTLE LAUNCH
Tomorrow morning after 6.30am, the space shuttle Discovery could be visible in Irish skies. While the launch or fuel tank will not be visible, it may be possible to see the shuttle as it makes its way to the International Space Station. Exact times and details will be available on www.astronomy.ie.
IRISH WRITERS
The Scariff County Library in Clare has a one-man performance with actor and radio/TV performer Neil O’Shea tomorrow at 8pm. The performance includes short extracts from writers such as Wilde, Heaney, Casey and Yeats. Admission is free. Booking: 061-922893
MIDLAND WALKS
Cullahill is located on the main N8 road between Durrow and Urlingford. The village derives its name from the nearby Cullahill Mountain, and walks – all of which start from the village – vary in distance between five and 14km. www.laoistourism.ie
AULD LAMMAS FAIR
Held in Ballycastle, Co Antrim today and tomorrow, this is one of Ireland’s oldest market fairs, with horsetrading, street entertainment and market stalls.
