THE MOST frequent fear expressed by voters during doorstep canvassing in the Northern election was that the British government would allow the unionists to bog down the negotiations with preconditions, the chairman of Sinn Fein, Mr Mitchel McLaughlin, said last night.

Voters had expressed the desire for unconditional talks to take place without delay and for all parties to participate, he added.
