Old Sturbridge Village an hour to the west, a worthwhile family outing. It's a reconstruction of a small New England rural community of the 1830s, with working farm, village shops, crafts and helpful guides in period dress. South of Boston, Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, enroute to Cape Cod, is another of the `living museums' at which America excels, and is based on the Pilgrim Fathers first settlement. This on even has authentic Indian in wigwams, over the hill from the fort and the guides have learnt to speak 17th century English with Cornish accents Another great hit with children.
