DERRYMOYLE, twice a winner of the Grade 1 Tipperkevin HurdIe at the Punchestown Festival in 1995 and 1996 and returning to action since finishing third behind Paddy's Return in the same race this year, opened his account over fences in rather fortuitous circumstances at a well- attended Wexford last evening.
Partnered by Paul Carberry, Michael Cunningham's charge looked set for the runner-up berth after Brian Bowens sent Lords Esker to the front over the third last.travelling well, but met it all wrong taking a crashing fall, leaving Derrymoyle to come home ahead of the fast-finishing Let Bunny Run and Willie Slattery.
Tommy Treacy recorded a 51/1 treble courtesy of the Paddy Mullins- trained Princess Gloria, Afarka, trained by his uncle Sean, and Corrigeen Rambler, trained by former 1968 All-Ireland winning Wexford hurler, Teddy O'Connor.
Mullins will concentrate on the Killarney and Galway summer festivals with the former Paul Lenihan inmate after she went on after the penultimate flight to comfortably beat Attack At Dawn.
Sean Treacy, who saddled the runner-up went one better in the Chadwicks Hurdle with his mare Afarka.
Biggest cheer of the evening came for the final leg of Treacy's treble, Corrigeen Rambler, which ran on well after the last to beat Graphic Image and the tiring Springfort Lady.
