A George IV four door mahogany bookcase, with moulded stepped cornice, reached its top estimate of £6,000 at last Sunday's clearance sale conducted by Town & Country at Ballinagappa House, Clane, Co Kildare.
A harlequin set of 11 19th century Hepplewhite mahogany framed dining chairs sold for £2,650; a Victorian Irish mahogany inverted breakfront serving/hall table made £1,650; a George IV giltwood overmantel sold for £1,000; and a Victorian mahogany cheval mirror fetched £860.
An oil on canvas by Erskine Nichol called The Irish Piper made £1,200 and another painting, Study of a Pensive Father And Daughter by William Mulready, attracted the sum of £800.
