A value-for-money double-bill featuring much-tipped US acts Passion Pit and Hockey drew a full house to Whelan’s on a school night.
Hockey have the power, panache and performance to hit you right between the eyes – and tunes such as Too Fakeare their ace card.
Passion Pit (above) also impressed – especially with Sleepyhead– though they need more shows like this to match expectations for their debut album Manners, which is due for release in May. Words: Jim Carroll. Photograph: Cormac Figgis
