UNDOUBTEDLY Ireland's best known summer festival internationally, the Rose of Tralee attracts competitors from around the world. The Tanaiste Dick Spring will officially open the 38th Rose of Tralee festival on Saturday night.

Throughout the following week, the Roses will prepare themselves for their televised interviews (on Tuesday and Wednesday night) to a backdrop of live music on the streets, in the town park and at the festival dome. Performers include OTT, Whipping Boy, the Corrs, the Saw Doctors, De Dannan and the Glamtarts.
