Andrew’s Lane Theatre, Dublin Sat 9pm €25 01-6795720
It’s a long stretch since U:Mack’s Static night has featured in the listings, but it returns with a bit of a cracker in the shape of two must-see live sets.
At this stage in the proceedings, Kieran “Four Tet” Hebden really needs no introduction. One of electronic music’s most forward-thinking innovators. Hebden’s myriad releases and collaborations over the years have seen him veer from folktronica to jazz (those albums with Steve Reid are particularly glorious), while tours supporting the likes of Radiohead or on his own have helped to spread the word.
New Warp signing Tim Exile (below), whose Listening Tree album is due in April, is the other live act on the bill. Before now, Exile’s experimental drum’n’bass and techno could be found at the Moving Shadow, Planet Mu and Beta labels. Live, expect hugely improvised swathes of sound. Your DJ for the evening is Platinumray (Front End Synthetics).
