Much derided for its depiction of all things blarney, Disney's 1959 romp
Darby O'Gill and the Little Peopleis, it transpires, one of director Jim Sheridan's favourite Irish films. He will introduce a special screening of it, organised by the Irish Film Archive, at the IFI in Dublin on March 14th as part of the St Patrick's Festival. The movie involves leprechauns, a banshee, a crock of gold and a singing Sean Connery.
