NO Less than nine examples of William Sadler Junior's work are for sale in London next week. They are included in an auction of early British and Victorian paintings on Tuesday morning at Phillips of New Bond Street. As this collection of pictures suggests, Sadler was a prolific artist who specialised in landscape and marine views.
Both subjects are represented at Phillips, where the nine paintings include two of Dublin Bay, estimated to fetch £1,000-£1,500 and £2,000-£3,000 respectively. An oil of figures in front of cottages situated below the Sugar- loaf Mountain in Co Wicklow is expected to sell for £1,500-£2,500. Two other views of unidentifiable towns are each expected to go for £3,000-£5,000.
