THE board of Eurimages has agreed to support two more Irish led projects. One is Lynchehaun, a screenplay by Brian Lynch which is set during political unrest in Ireland at the end of the 19th century and touches on the events which inspired Synge to write The Playboy of the Western World. It will be directed by Cathal Black.
The other is a feature length documentary, Out of Passion, subtitled A History of 20th Century Fashion, to be produced by James Mitchell of Little Bird, in a co production with France and Germany. This brings the number of Irish projects receiving Eurimages funds to 16 with a total of 29.1 French francs (approximately IR£3.2m) since Ireland joined Eurimages four years ago.
