Oxegen roll call keeps expanding

A new slew of acts have been added to Oxegen, bolstering its impressive line-up

A new slew of acts have been added to Oxegen, bolstering its impressive line-up. Organisers have already drawn in some huge names (Blur, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Specials, The Killers, Kings of Leon), but this week they added a flurry of popular acts, among them Lady GaGa, Florence and the Machine, Ladyhawke and Friendly Fires.

Joining them will be TV on the Radio, James, Manic Street Preachers and Squeeze. Pet Shop Boys, Of Montreal, The Game, Hockey, Foals, Glasvegas, Doves and Eagles of Death Metal are also new additions, while one of the biggest draws will surely be alt.rock giants Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction, who will play on the Sunday.

Meanwhile, music fans wondering when the line-up for September’s Electric Picnic will be announced needn’t wait much longer. Festival booker Declan Forde of POD Promotions told The Ticket: “The line-up is looking very strong, with the same broad spectrum of musical styles as previous line-ups and a couple that we consider real coups. As in previous years, we will be announcing the first wave of acts at the end of March, and putting tickets on sale then.”

The Ticket has since learned that dance pioneers Orbital will be announced as part of the line-up, but fans will have to wait a little bit longer to hear what acts will be joining them.
