Animal prints: we think they're best left to cast members of Eastenders

Animal prints: we think they're best left to cast members of Eastenders. What is it about a beautiful, exotic beast like a leopard that its markings, when transferred on to polyester, look so profoundly nasty? There was a brief moment when looking like an endangered species had a certain ironic charm; that moment is no more, and this season animal prints manage to seem both sad and cheap - especially since they are usually combined with nasty gilt buttons (we'll save those for another rant at a later date). Our advice is to leave them to the wild cats on which they naturally belong.
