American Idiot, Green Day's most successful album will be adapted for the stage. The punk-pop trio are working with California's Berkley Repertory Theatre to turn it into a musical, to premiere in September. Other musicals hitting US stages include a planned adaptation of Once, while Bono and The Edge have contributed music and lyrics to a Spider-Man musical, both set for Broadway in 2010.
