St George's Church, Belfast, Wed 8pm £10; National Gallery, Dublin Thurs 6.30pm €14 01-7007811 Mountains, Birds, Bats and Elephantsis the title Paul Hillier has given to the first of his 2009 programmes with the National Chamber Choir.

It’s a polarised programme, which mingles music of the French Renaissance (by Mouton, Sermisy, Gombert and Janequin) with works by two living composers, each from a different hemisphere.

Australia's Ross Edwards is represented by his Mountain Chantand Denmark's Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen by Four Madrigalsfrom the Natural World, settings of work by Australian poet Les Murray. The programme will be heard in Belfast on Wednesday and Dublin on Thursday.
