Currently writing new material for their second album (due next year), Dublin band Fight Like Apes have finally taken their name seriously and come up with a premier wheeze that will see them perform a one-off show in Dublin’s Academy on December 18th – in a wrestling ring.
Inspired by the band’s love of pro-wrestling, the specially built ring will resound to the tag-team, body-slamming sounds of Whack! Thud! Scrunch! and all other manner of no-holds- barred electro punk. Special guests haven’t yet been announced, but we are assured that they will be from the world of wrestling.
The band, meanwhile, continue to impress our American friends. MTV is using Fight Like Apes music in P Diddy's Making the Bandseries, as well as in the music channel's Halloween horror/ mystery mini-series, Valemont, which stars Nikki Blonksy (Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray).
