What's the best gig you've been to?One I saw recently that I enjoyed was Stanley Brinks at the Brixton Windmill, because his songwriting is so good.

And the worst?Andrew Bird was very bad.

What are your favourite and least favourite venues? We don't like the Barfly chain. The Brixton Windmill is a favourite in London and Club Nasti in Madrid. Schokoladen in Berlin is great.

Who is the most famous person to have shown up at one of your gigs?I saw Terry Hall from The Specials at one of them. He was at the bar, anyway.

Most embarrassing on-stage moment?I forgot the words once halfway through a song, and had to stop.

What's your crowd-pleasing number? It depends on the crowd. It is usually popular when Jonny Helm, our drummer, comes out and sings a song.

What's the most you've ever paid for a gig ticket?Ninety quid for Leeds festival.

Chatting between songs – good or bad? It's good, sometimes.

Groupies. Would you?No, I wouldn't, but Jonny, the drummer, is a mad groupie hound.

How many roadies does it take to change your lightbulbs (ie, how big is your entourage)? We don't have an entourage. It's just the three of us, the three members of the band.

What's the worst thing ever thrown at you?Nothing has ever been thrown at me. A girl once threw a bunch of cherries onto the stage and shouted "I've given you my cherry!" She was very pleased with herself. She didn't throw them specifically at me, though.

If you could be in any other band, which one?The Rolling Stones.

Who's invited to your aftershow party? We don't have aftershow parties.
