Fresh from their second foray into the recording studio, Triúr embark on a short tour to launch their latest collection, Triúr Arís, which features a raft of newly composed tunes by Peadar Ó Riada in Cúl Aodha.
This is an all-too-rare chance to catch three of the most compelling musicians in traditional music at play together, and to hear newly minted music that draws deep of the well, but that sounds utterly fresh and inviting to the ear.
East Clare fiddler Martin Hayes is now living in Ireland and clearly relishing the time he’s spending in the company of his compadre from The Gloaming, Hardanger fiddler Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh.
As for Ó Riada, he’s enjoying a particularly fruitful period in recent years, so this Kenmare concert promises much in the way of sparks flying between musicians who clearly relish the challenge of tackling new material (and old) together.
