What's the best gig you've been to?Chic at Electric Picnic, 2009. Atmosphere was electric, lots of love everywhere, and Nile Rodgers is a genius of extra-ordinate proportions!

And the worst?I think I was on stage at the time.

What are your favourite and least favourite venues?Favourite: Set Theatre, Kilkenny. Worst: plenty of them, but for fear of return I'll shut up now.

Most embarrassing on-stage moment? It involved two strippers and a bunch of hairy bikers looking on.

What's the most you've ever paid for a gig ticket?Jay-Z at The Point. I think it cost €100 or so. It paid for Beyoncé's toe-fish treatment the next day, I believe.

Chatting between songs – good or bad?Good if it's light and brief; bad if it's genuine and sincere.

Groupies. Would you?It depends. Whose groupies are they?

Do you like to meet and greet fans after the gig?Ask "the fans" that question – I'm usually chasing them down the road with my CD in my hand.

Any useful stage tips?Don't listen to other people's tips. Make up your own.

If you could be in any other band, which would it be?The Kanyu Tree. I've hired a genealogist to find a family link somewhere.

Who's invited to your aftershow party? The people on the list.

What's your best tour story? The best tour stories are the ones you can't remember or the ones you can't repeat. You know the rules.
