What's the best gig you've been to, and why?I think it would be Kraftwerk at the Lucena in Prague, about seven years ago. A great venue, great music. And Florian Schneider being heckled for his stiff, non-emotional posture, to which he replied with a sly grin and tap of his foot.

And the worst? The first time we played Benicassim Festival in Spain jumps to mind.

What are your favourite and least favourite venues?I used to hate the Astoria in London. I don't like big venues. We played the Folies Bergère a couple of years ago. That was great.

Who is the most famous person to show up at one of your gigs?Demis Roussos.

What's your crowd-pleasing number? Our cover of Russ Abbot's Atmosphere. Sorry. I don't think we have a particular crowd pleaser.

Chatting between songs – good or bad, and why?It depends on the show, the music, the venue. We don't expect silence, but we are very quiet sometimes. I have no problem with chat between songs. It's similar to cinema – you wouldn't put up with someone talking through the film.

Groupies – would you?Oh yes.

Any useful stage tips?Don't make a vodka and tonic in an ice bucket. It'll get kicked over.

What's the worst thing ever thrown at you?The best thing ever was two bras at one show. They both belonged to the same girl. And she came to get them back after the show.

If you could be in any other band, which one?The Plastic Ono Band.

Who's invited to your aftershow party?Everyone except the chap who pissed in the corner of the dressing room.
