For many Electric Picnic regulars, the Body Soul arena on the site is now as much of an attraction as anything on the main musical stages. What’s on offer this weekend is the usual BS mix of therapeutic sideshows (foot soaks, hot tubs, massages and all that jazz) and a cracking bill of leftfield musical fare.
Topping the musical bill are leading electronic scientist Kieran Hebden, aka Four Tet (whose latest album There Is Love in You, is a storming return to form); New York punk-funk bobbydazzlers !!! (Chk Chk Chk), who will be showing off their forthcoming album, Strange Weather, Isn’t It?; and regular Irish visitor Dr Alex Patterson from The Orb.
Others to watch out for include the excellent Voice of the Seven Thunders, folkies Tunng, and dub explorer Gaudi.
Naturally, there’s a sizeable Irish contingent as well, with Jape, RSAG, Kormac’s Big Band, Wiggle, Patrick Kelleher and Katie Kim. It could be quite an experience.
