AILBHE MALONE, in London, on what's rocking pop
- Exciting news, pop fans! A new Lady Gaga track has leaked. Titled Then You Love Me, the track is still in an unfinished state, but finds Gaga warbling over a Gina-G-ish backing track. Hopefully this one picks up when Red One gets his hands on it.
- Kylie Minogueis in talks to make a musical based on her back catalogue. Working with William Baker (Rent Remixed), Kylie promises that it's not about her – just her music. Hopefully it'll involve All The Glitter In The World, and be based in a disco. We'd pay loads to see that
- TUNE OFTHE WEEK: Beyoncé's Why Dont You Love Me. Oh me, oh my, Beyoncé's learnt well from her time with Gaga. Rocking a Betty Page look, and doing housework in impractical outfits, Beyoncé bemoans her man's lameness – while dusting her Grammys.
- Word onthe street is that Will.I.Am and Cheryl Cole are getting on well during the Chezza/B.E.P. month-long tour. So much so that at their Dublin date last week, Will.I. made up an impromptu rap, containing the charming line "Cheryl Cole, you so sexy". Pop Corner very much endorses this potential partnership.
- Oh dear.Paris Hilton is threatening to return to the recording studio. An ominous tweet enthuses: "Went and visited Linda Perry at her studio. She is so cool and her studio is incredible! I respect her so much as a producer, what a talent!"
- JEDWARD WATCH:The gruesome twosome are once more (because there was obviously a two- hour window where they were free) returning to TV screens everywhere, promoting that most glamorous of products – Shake n' Vac. For those under 20 years of age, Shake n' Vac is a sort of washing powder for carpets. Keen to bring their business savvy to the project, the Brothers Grimes state:
“We had five dogs and we would let them in the house and it would smell bad and then we would use Shake n’ Vac and it would make the carpet smell nice.” Succinct, as ever.
