Ailbhe Malonesmells of blood and WHAT ?

TRACK OF THE WEEK:Locomotive by Alex Winston. We're a little bit in love with Alex Winston (below). The Detroit lass sings like Joanna Newsom's high-top-owning, too-much-eyeliner-wearing younger sister, and has just this week been signed to Island Records. Locomotive is a giddy romp, all about slowing things down, in what we believe might be a metaphorical relationship manner, but we could be wrong. It could just be about trains.

We were worried that Lady Gaga would be too busy editing the video for Born This Wayto focus on any of her other projects. Luckily, we were wrong. During a recent interview with an Australian radio station she confirmed that she was working on her new perfume, due to be launched next year. The ingredients? Semen and blood. Not just any blood though: Gaga's blood. Don't worry, there's a logical explanation, right? "You just get the after-feeling of sex from the semen and then the blood is sort of primal," she explains. "It was taken out of my own blood sample, so it's a sense of having me on your skin." Good, glad that's cleared up.

In these days of solo-career this and side-project that (even Danny from McFly has a DJ side-project; he’s been working on Roger Sanchez’s forthcoming album too), it’s heartening to know that one group are still in it together: JLS. Chatting to the Metro, Aston promised that “if JLS ever does end – which it won’t – it’ll be all four of us. We’ll be friends forever. The group works and we’re happy as we are.”

Here's a sentence we never thought we'd type: Leona Lewis is about to go dubstep. A source tells the Sun that "Simon Cowell's Syco team have asked songwriters to hand them dubstep and dance tracks with traditional lyrics for the X Factorwinner. And they've specifically stated 'no ballads'. It's a big change for her." What next, Magnetic Man and Mary Byrne team up? Actually, that would be great.
