AIBHE MALONEspies Lewis Hamilton in the rear-view mirror of her go-kart
TRACK OF THE WEEK
- Walk Through Walls by Kyla La Grange. In a Ladyhawke-less world, it's good to know that someone's still holding on to the swoony goth end of the 1980s. Young Kyla is also a philosophy student – but don't let that put you off – and sounds a bit like Cyndi Lauper covering Bat for Lashes, after a particularly bad break-up.
- Speaking of Ladyhawke, the eternally shy Kiwi is having trouble writing her follow-up album. Unsure of what fans want to hear, she moans: "It's been really weighing me down. It's that second album thing. People always talk about it and it's true. It is really stressful and I just keep thinking people are going to want to hear a Paris Is Burningor My Delirium, but I'm not going to have those songs. It's going to be a completely different album and style."
- In probably the best news this side of Christmas, it's been announced that Blue are to represent the UK in this year's Eurovision. What with Jedward (hopefully) singing for Ireland, it's going to be a star-studded affair. Alas, Blue's ex-manager isn't hopeful for their chances. "They will have to win. Anything less and their reputation would be in tatters," he said. "It is the equivalent of Lewis Hamilton entering a go-kart race – he will be the strong favourite but there is also the possibility he could lose. So why risk it?" Let's hope they All Rise to the challenge.
- Poor P Diddy is lonely is love. The melancholy mogul told the Mirrorthat he yearns for "what Jay and Beyoncé have". Diddy then proceeded to list qualities he looks for in a ladyfriend. "My ideal woman has to have intellect and soul." Perhaps remembering his on-off relationship with Kim Porter, the mother of three of his kids, he added: "Every woman that I was with, that I had a child with, they did deserve for me to marry them. But there's things going on in my life . . . I'm not gonna say it's all the way me, but I'll take responsibility as a man."
