residence at Pearse Museum in Dublin. The piece will be premiered at the museum in St Enda’s Park, Rathfarnham on Friday, September 17th, with two performances, at 7.30pm and 8.15pm.

“We met again earlier this year at the premiere of Julien Temple’s Oil City Confidential, and later, at very short notice, Daniel obliged by supplying a marvellous soundtrack to a few short poems I read at a Haiti benefit,” said Carr.

“The positive response to that encouraged us to explore some other possibilities. Daniel had been talking about how he found the gardens at St Enda’s to be hugely inspiring, and we both saw how these few poems might work in such a historic location.”

The theme of the poems is “finding consolation for the tragedy of loss. In some ways it’s a love letter. I’ve long heard an uncanny mix of elegy and anger in Daniel’s music which doesn’t require words or explanation, but I find this combination quite thrilling and moving.” facebook.com/ ascension.figgis.carr
