Electric Picnic 2010 will have “something for everyone”, according to head booker Declan Forde. He told The Ticket that he was delighted with the line-up so far, adding that the organisers have managed to maintain the festival’s policy of blending top-quality, in-demand acts with a “very eclectic steer”.
“Last year, we had awful weather for the first time. This, and some of the knock-on effects it had, certainly meant that some people didn’t enjoy it as much as previous years, but I think it was countered by the music and production,” he said. “Inevitably, we lose a few acts to Oxegen every year, but they lose a few to us too – and there’s plenty of good acts to replace those we don’t manage to get.”
Wednesday’s line-up announcement – which also included Roxy Music, LCD Soundsystem, Massive Attack, Modest Mouse, Jónsi, Fever Ray and Beach House – was greeted with a largely positive response from fans. Tickets go on sale today.
