The last tickets for this weekend’s inaugural Body & Soul festival remain on sale today. The idea behind the 1,500-capacity event, which is held within the walled gardens of Co Westmeath’s Ballinlough Castle, is to capture the intimacy and laid-back vibe of Electric Picnic’s famous Body & Soul area, where music fans can chill out as well as hear top-notch tunes.
The weather forecast remains bright, which means that those planning on taking a dip in the hot tubs or attending the moonlit masquerade ball won’t need to borrow oilskins.
Among the acts set to perform are FourTet, !!!, Chequerboard, Jape, Crystal Fighters, Katie Kim, R.S.A.G. and Tunng.
“We’re almost sold-out, which is very pleasing for a new festival,” said booker Declan Forde. “If it is to expand next year it will only be by a small amount. The fact that it’s small and intimate is one of the things that makes it unique.”
