It takes a great degree of confidence to put your trust in a producer who is thousands of miles away. As Montreal indie rockers Young Galaxy recorded their third album, they e-mailed the tracks to cosmic pop maestro and Studio member Dan Lissvik in his Swedish studio, with producer and band skyping their ideas and thoughts to one another. Aside from a neat angle for the press release, the approach has also resulted in Young Galaxy's finest album to date. The refreshed sound is definitely down to the band taking chances with Lissik, and you can hear how the producer's sense of space and pace has loosened and lightened the band's indie epics. Tracks such as Cover Your Tracks and Peripheral Visionaries are the beauties here, each flashing coy smiles and flexing melodic muscles at the gallery.
