Freedom of Speech Big Dada****

You will remember Speech Debelle from the Mercury Music Prize-winning Speech Therapyin 2009 and the subsequent strop about her label and lack of sales. Some may be be surprised, then, that her second album is released on the same label as that chequered debut. Debelle seems keen to put that palaver behind her, and Freedom of Speechis more than up to helping her with this task. With producer Kwes contributing vibrant, vivid colours across the tracks, Debelle hits the mark time and time again with angry, impassioned, tough, emotional rhymes. She's a more than capable all-rounder, striding with aplomb from the bouncy disco wash on I'm With Itto the dramatic, epic wallop of Sun Dog, but she's also out to prove many points this time around.
