Nick Cave's Grinderman side project has never been renowned for understatement. Lest we forget, the group's very first single was the charmingly titled No Pussy Blues. But here they've pushed the boat out even further, with a video that features lasers, automatic weapons and gratuitous band member nudity. In internet terms, then, one for the NSFW (and WTF) halls of fame.

More shameless nostalgia from the pop punk veterans. Incidentally, Hurley, the band’s new album, is not Rivers Cuomo’s tribute to his trusty caman and sliotar, but rather a bizarre homage to Lost star Jorge Garcia, whose chubby face adorns the cover.

All the Bored People Tight Ship ***

The first single from Groom's fourth album, Marriage, may be sprawling, self- consciously quirky and slightly overlong. But it has its charms. The band launch Marriagetomorrow night at The Lower Deck in Dublin. Don't leave them waiting at the altar.

A windswept piano ballad about lost love, set during the 2008 US presidential election. Yes, it’s nice to see the former Arsenal goalkeeper finally find a new outlet for his talents. (Hey, I don’t care if I’m the last person on earth to find this joke funny. I’ll go down with the ship if need be!)
