Whether he's operating as Ramadanman or as Pearson Sound, David Kennedy has the measure of bass music's mood swings. He also has a sharp eye for talent – his Hessle Audio label has premiered stirring cuts from James Blake, Untold, Joe and others. This mix follows his fondness for cutting and switching between sounds and styles. The main attractions are a bunch of his own tracks, such as the Carl Craig rerub of his Void 23 collaboration with Appleblim, and remixes (see the rolling rearrangement of Joy Orbison's GR Etiquette). He finds room for new-school bass guns Mala, Pinch, D1 and Jam City, deeper house and techno from Levon Vincent and Marcello Napoletano, and Shangaan electro and South African township funk from Tiyiselani Vomaseve.
