Start and Completeand it's abundantly clear that Taylor didn't bring his best ideas with him this time, either. Joined by experimental and jazz mid-weight collaborators in the form of Charles Hayward (This Heat), John Coxon (Spring Heel Jack) and Pat Thomas, the four-piece booked Studio 2 in Abbey Road for one day, followed wherever their improvised ideas would lead, and decided the jazz-funk results were worthy of release. Occasionally the band stumble upon a common groove, but more often than not the songs are uninspired, and the album soon settles into bite-sized edits from an extended, soporific jam session.
