Twisted Pepper, Mid Abbey St, Dublin Tonight 8pm €15 01-8734800
If you want to know why hip-hop is in such sprightly rude health at the moment, Action Bronson is the man for you. During the past 18 months, the former chef (we can see the TV show already) has produced a slew of rave-worthy tunes and rugged tracks to get heads nodding.
You can hear references to the Queens, New York rhymer’s previous culinary exploits in his tunes (that would be the duck prosicutto and smoked brisket), but he’s adamant that the studio has won out over the stove for now.
For more Bronson action, check out last year’s brilliant debut, Dr Lecter, and the mix-tapes he’s thrown out already. Plans for 2012 include records with The Alchemist and Harry Fraud, as well as Mr Wonderful, the follow-up to Dr Lecter.
Support from Workin’ Class Records’ reps Lethal Dialect and Costello.
