A Derry man who bought a bottle of Coca Cola in a local shop two years ago found a 12 cm metal pipe in his mouth when he drank it.

At Derry's Magistrates Court yesterday, Coca Cola Bottlers Ltd of Lambeg in Lisburn admitted the offence and was fined £250.

The court was told that the company, which was fined £100 for a similar offence in Co Fermanagh in July 1995, modified its metal filler tap system last April.
