THE uneasy blend of comedy and gravity, lumbering plot devices and speedy resolution make this one of Shakespeare's less popular plays. Absence of a set and merciless lighting put pressure on the performances - a challenge well met by Loose Canon, who speak the verse with intelligence but with varying degrees of confidence.
Isabella (Mary O'Driscoll), the postulant nun with a troubled conscience, and Lucia (Tony Flynn), with none, stand out.
