A one-day conference marking the 150th anniversary of the death of Daniel O'Connell takes place in St Patrick's College, Maynooth, tomorrow.

Speakers include Dr Miriam Hederman O'Brien on "Ireland's contribution to aa evolving Europe" Prof Colin Matthew, Professor of Modern History, University College, Oxford, on "Gladstone, Ireland and Daniel O Connell", and Mr Maurice O'Connell, Governor, Central Bank of Ireland on "Irish Banking and Monetary Union".
