It’s been a good five years for the Lunar Disko crew, with memorable nights in the back-pages from Intergalactic Gary, Aiden Tyrell, Egyptian Lover, Marco Passarani, I-f and many others. Tonight, Chicago acid-house eminence grise Tyree Cooper (pictured) joins the gang for their fifth birthday bash.
Having swapped a career on the basketball court for decks and a studio, Cooper has been an influential figure since his name first appeared on a record ( I Fear the Nighton DJ International back in 1986). Aside from a string of other hits and playing a part in the hip-house movement, Cooper has maintained his rep with remixes and the Supa Dupa label.
The birthday banquet also features a live set from Jonny Dillon aka Automatic Tasty, who released the In It for the MoneyEP on the Lunar Disko label last year, plus Electric City's Simon Conway.
