FILMING was completed recently on an enterprising low budget picture of an Irish boy doing his Leaving Certificate. The as yet untitled film will be controversial, according to its director, Graham Jones, who studied at film school in London until last summer. His project was filmed in black and white on Super 16 millimetre, mostly in Dublin with some scenes shot in Athlone.
Jones and his team secured the services of several well known arts and entertainment figures to play cameo roles in the film, among them Eamonn Morrissey, Johnny Murphy, Mick Lally, Mary McEvoy, Bosco Hogan, Joe McKinney, Corban Walker, Shay Healy, Lee Dunne and Eamonn Lawlor. The film will be released here next year.
