It’s been 27 years this month since Joan Jett and the Blackhearts chanted “I love rock’n’roll/So put another dime in the jukebox, baby” and topped the US singles charts for seven weeks.

Now Twilightstar Kristen Stewart will play Jett in The Runaways, which is set in 1973 and chronicles the experiences of the all-girl quintet co-founded by Jett when she was 15. Dakota Fanning co-stars as lead singer Cheri Currie. Fanning also joins Stewart in the Twilightsequel, New Moon, in which she plays a vampire.
