Kevin Saunderson has been at the coalface for as long as there has been a coalface to be at. What began as a desire to make music with fellow Belleville High School students and future legends Juan Atkins and Derrick May back in Detroit turned into a life-long mission for the New York-born producer to take techno to the masses. From such joyous and uplifting Inner City anthems and mainstream hits as Big Funand Good Life– tracks which were crafted with euphoric, anthemic atmospheres in mind – to a string of innovative releases as E-Dancer and KMS, Saunderson has certainly played a key role in how techno has developed, mutated and survived. Support for Saunderson in the main room comes from Irish techno mainstay Eamon Doyle (D1 Records), while the Ukiyo Allstars and Subject DJs keep it sweet in the Lobby Bar.
