Rosemary Wilson contacted PriceWatch after she noticed that Tesco was offering a six-pack of Diet Coke cans for €3.25, but a 12-pack advertising "3 cans free" was selling for €6.25. Based on the price of the six-pack, if three cans in the 12-pack were free, then the entire pack should surely have cost €4.87. Tesco Ireland says the six-pack offer was set by the supermarket but the 12-pack offer was set by Coca-Cola. It treats the two packs as separate products despite their being the same brand. Discounts do not always apply to all varieties of a brand.
