Conal Creedon, the writer of the surreal radio soap, Under The Goldie Fish, and writer-in-residence with the Everyman Palace, has been named Person of the Month in Cork, to honour his literary work. Merely flavour of the month he certainly is not: Goldie Fish ran to more than 400 episodes in a four year period, his collection, Pancho And Lefty Ride Out was published by Collins Press, and he has signed a three-book deal with Poolbeg. His first novel, One Handsome Moon, will be out in February.

He has just completed a film script, and is working on a series of three stage plays, set in Cork, for the Everyman. The award is sponsored by Southern Advertising and Jury's Hotel.
