University College Cork has appointed 27-year-old Oxford graduate, Ali Robertson, as Theatre Manager at The Granary on the Mardyke, writes Mary Leland. The appointment is a break with custom at the Granary, which up to now, has been run as a combination of programme management and academic theatre studies, as the space is the practical focus of UCC's BA and MA courses in Theatre Studies.
The coming months will see the opening, on April 26th, of the new Corcadorca production Mr Man (written by Enda Walsh and recently seen in workshop form at the International Theatre Symposium in Dublin), a Granary co-production with the English company Nunkie, as well as return bookings by Graffiti, Boomerang and Brown Penny.
